Titanium Steel Welded pipe and Tube

One of the strongest metal is titanium. Symbol of titanium is Ti. To make very strong and light parts of airplanes, titanium alloys are used in aerospace. In sea water and chlorine, titanium does not corrode. Its dust is extremely flammable and can burn at high temperature. It has 22 electrons, 22 protons and 26 neutrons.

Grades of Titanium
1) Grade 1 – It is the most ductile and softest grade. It has the greatest forms and shapes. Also it has a very good corrosion resistance and high toughness. As it has good shapes and forms, it is commonly available as titanium plate and tubing. It includes chemical processing, architecture, medical industry, automotive parts, marine industry and airframe structure.

2) Grade 2 – It has a very good usage and wide availability. It is same as grade 1 titanium, but is little stronger. Both are equally corrosion resistant. It has good weldability, strength, ductility (moulded or shaped) and good shapes and forms. It is the prime choice for many fields of application like chemical processing, exhaust pipe shrouds, power generation, architecture and desalination.

3) Grade 3 – This grade is stronger than grade 1 and 2. It needs moderate strength and major corrosion resistance. It includes medical industry, marine industry, chemical processing and aerospace structure.

4) Grade 4 – It is the strongest among the 4 grades. It has excellent corrosion resistance. It is normally used in industrial applications. It is found in medical grade titanium. It includes cryogenic vessels, surgical hardware, heat exchangers and CPI equipment’s.

5) Grade 7 – It is similar to grade 2. It is just the addition of alloy. It has a very good weldability and is assembled in a proper way. It is most corrosion resistance in titanium alloys. It is used in chemical processes and equipment components.

6) Grade 11 – It is same as grade 1. Its useful properties include useful strength, impact toughness and excellent weldability. It includes chlorate manufacturing, chemical processing, marine appliances and desalination.

7) Grade 5 – It is heat treated to increase the strength. It can be used in welded construction at the temperature of up to 600 degree Fahrenheit. This alloy has high strength at light weight and high corrosion resistance. It includes sports equipment’s, aircraft structures and engine components.

8) Grade 23 – It can be made into coils, strands wires and flat wires. It also requires the toughness, good corrosion resistance, light weight and high strength.

9) Grade 12 – It has high quality weldability. It has high durable alloy. This alloys high corrosion resistance also make it invaluable to manufacturing equipment where corrosion is requires. It includes shell and heat exchanger, chemical manufacturing, marine and airfare components.
